Three artists from Portland area collaborated on an event in the Pearl District entitled “Versailles in Versailles,” featuring the work of Nondis Taylor, Sherri Gibson and Lorie Wolff, who are established decorative painters and members of the Professional Decorative Painters Association (PDPA).They created a permanent wall mural indside the upscale store Versailles in the Pearl.
The talented artisans created a trompe l’oeil mural with a fresco style twist of the Gardens of Versailles in France, while spending a long weekend creating a visually stunning original 16′x24′ wall. Perspective techniques highlighting the artisit’s knowledge of light and shadow, harmony of color and composition, in addition to aged plaster effects give the wall a sense of history and natural patina. Versailles in the Pearl’s owner, Gerard Philippon, stated: “We appeciate the opportunity to work with many professional decorative painters who are donating their time and artistry to create a stunning addition to our retail location.”

The permanent wall mural inside the upscale store has moved to the new location in 11th! Come and enjoy the Gardens of Versailles.
