Mural Painting at Versailles April 3-6
Three local artists collaborated on an event in the Pearl District entitled “Versailles in Versailles,” featuring the work of Nondis Taylor, Sherri Gibson and Lorie Wolff, who are established decorative painters and members of the Professional Decorative Painters Association (PDPA).They created a permanent wall mural indside the upscale store Versailles in the Pearl.
The talented artisans created a trompe l’oeuil mural with a fresco style twist of the Gardens of Versailles in France, while spending a long weekend creating a visually stunning original 16′x24′ wall. Perspective techniques highlighting the artisit’s knowledge of light and shadow, harmony of color and composition, in addition to aged plaster effects give the wall a sense of history and natural patina. Versailles in the Pearl’s owner, Gerard Philippon, stated: “We appeciate the opportunity to work with many professional decorative painters who are donating their time and artistry to create a stunning addition to our retail location.”
